HONDURAS UPDATE
Dear Friends,
Here is an update from my most recent trip to Honduras.  It was a wonderful time of welcoming new children in our Carry the Light family.

Going to the home
Happy faces
Car sick
Motion sickness
It was such a joy to take this new group of children to our home in Honduras.  The practice of the Honduran government is to keep children in a foster home for only three months and then move them to a new home.  Our children were overjoyed to learn that they were going to their permanent home and wouldn’t have to move in three months. It was a long drive home we had kids puking everywhere due to motion sickness.  Everyone was glad to arrive at their new home.
Health examination
Each child  was given a doctor’s examination.
Carlos
This is Carlos.  He was so excited to go to our home that we actually took him a couple of days earlier than the other children.  Carlos is unable to talk other than 1 syllable words and vowels.  We believe his condition will improve with proper care and attention.  He went with us to buy mattresses and other supplies.  He got to choose his own pillow and didn’t want to let go of it.
Pictures for sponsors
The children are so thankful for their sponsors.  Here they are drawing pictures for them.
Papa Norman with the children
Papa Norman with his children.  We are so blessed to have him there parenting and leading our kids.  His love and support is already bringing greatly needed stability to the lives of these precious children.
Devotional with Pastor Salomon

Here is Pastor Salomon leading our children in a devotional. Spiritual development is crucial to the health and happiness of each child.  Salomon’s leadership will have tremendous impact on their lives.

Every child has received a new a school uniform, rubber boots, backpacks, and school shoes.

Helping
Self starters
The children were eager to help Babu assemble the lunchroom tables and we had a great time of bonding.  The next morning when I arrived, they were already assembling them without me.  How wonderful it was to see them become a family and work together.
First meal at the home
Our first meal together
Neighbors sharing food
Often, our neighbors will bless us with food to show their support and appreciation.
Chicken coop
We are raising chickens and have planted crops as well as palm and banana trees.
Fresh tortillas
Making fresh tortillas on our beautiful estufa.
Truck with frame
We’ve added a frame and benches to our truck in order to transport the children.  A tarp can be placed over the frame to provide protection from the elements.  Its working great!
FIRST SUNDAY IN CHURCH TOGETHER

It was such an honor to be in church with these precious children. I can’t wait to see what miracles God is going to perform in their lives.  This is what its all about, folks.

What a beautiful group!  Please remember to pray for our children and our staff.

 WE STILL NEED SPONSORS

Several of our children are still in need of sponsors.  You can sponsor at the level of participation you desire.  Partial sponsorships are $50.00 per month; a full sponsorship is $150.00 per month.

If you would like to help, please consider sponsoring our home at any amount you desire.  There are many expenses that come up in the day to day running of any household and your support to our general orphans fund is greatly appreciated.

Glory to God!  I am so thankful for each of you who have prayed for and supported the opening of our home in Honduras.  I pray God richly blesses you.
Sincerely,
Rev. Greg Haynes
