Rising Star Children’s Center exists to serve the orphaned and vulnerable children of Uganda by nurturing their talents through access to quality education, arts, music, sports and computers as well as the inspiration of God’s word. The specific objectives that guide the center’s activities are:-
1.1. We provide a family oriented environment that nurtures the inquisitive minds of the needy children in Uganda, by placing our children in some of our church families.
1.2. We provide the children with primary and secondary school education so they are adequately prepared for the tertiary level.
1.3. To ensure the students performance (including test scores and class participation) are high.
1.4. To increase the overall health and well being of each child through improved nutrition better sanitation, individual counseling and directly supporting the families that host our children.
1.5. We expose the children to extra- curricula activities including the arts, music, sports, computers and other lifeskills through which children’s natural talents are encouraged. This we do during their holidays..
1.6. To train the children in the ways of God with the foundation of the Bible, God’s holy word. We regularly hold youth conferences to instill Godly values in them.

To raise God-fearing and creative Children through quality education and the inspiration of God’s word.
4. OPERATIONS SCOPE:
The Center will provide services to those children who have been previously identified through “Rising Star Children’s Center” Program as vulnerable and in need of education assistance. The target demographic are orphaned or vulnerable and neglected children in Uganda.
5. WHAT WE HAVE DONE
At this moment we have 43 children within our care, and they are at different levels of school. Some in primary, secondary and tertiary level.
6. WHAT DO WE WANT TO DO.
There is still a great need not just in community but generally in Uganda, many children have been left to fend for themselves on the street. Due to limitation of resources we are forced to take a limited number.
That is why we would like to build a primary school for now which will help us grow the project beyond a church department to a fully sustainable ministry of its own. As of now the center is supported wholly by the church, which takes a percentage of its tithe and offering every month to pay school fees for the children and some of the daily requirements.
With the school in place, we believe that if we keep the school at a good standard we could have a situation where a class of 30 children, the 20 paying children in that class would be able to sponsor the ten orphaned and vulnerable children.
So the church wont be the only primary source of sponsorship but the community too.
We believe with these plans in place, we would like in the next 7 years to support at least 200 children from primary through to vocational or tertiary school, in the initial phase.
